Top 6 FAQs About Triple M Demolition

At Triple M Demolition (TMD), our team has been asked many questions over the course of our five decade history in the demolition industry. Here are answers to the six most commonly asked questions:

1. Do you recycle building materials from demolition sites?

Yes.

Materials such as concrete, bricks, and blocks are sent to third-party companies for recycling and repurposing. We direct all scrap metal to Moffat Scrap Iron & Metal Inc. We do not resell any metal received from projects, we recycle all scrap material.

2. Do you ever blow up buildings?

We can, but it’s rare.

Blowing things up happens mostly in movies and on TV, not reality. We have a streamlined process and go about demolition in the most pragmatic, responsible, and environmentally-sensible way possible.

3. How do you handle the presence of asbestos?

Training and certification.

Our team is fully-trained and certified in the removal of asbestos and other harmful materials.

We always perform an in-depth site assessment and provide a plan for the safe removal and disposal of all harmful materials.

4. How many employees do you have?

At this time, we have 50 employees.

Our team is made up of unionized employees such as foremen, labourers, and project managers, most of whom have been working with us for over five years. We also have non-unionized office staff. If a particular project requires a larger team, we will ask the union hall for additional help.

5. What kind of training and certification do your employees go through?

Extensive.

Our team is WSIB certified and all of our team members undergo regular comprehensive health and safety training. We ensure that each team member holds the appropriate certifications for their role on the job site.

Our team holds a wide range of certifications, including:

  • Working At Heights Training
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Asbestos Types 1, 2 & 3 Work Training
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
  • Excavator Operator
  • Skid Steer Operator
